Cassidy Andrews is ready for a fresh start when she moves from her tranquil life in Lexington, Indiana to the Windy City of Chicago. Thanks to her rambunctious best friend Andy for sending her resume to one of the most prestigious law firms in the country, she is getting that chance. All is going to plan until Andy dares her to go talk to the sexy patron at the bar. She approaches him with a little liquid courage and her newly acquired man slayer mentality only to realize that this is not just any man but her new boss, Bradley Sparks. New plan, panic, run away.
Bradley is definitely not looking for anything new, but becomes intrigued with Cassidy’s subtle magnetic shyness. His curiosity must be quenched if only to find out if she’s as interesting as she seems.
Will they hit it off or strike out? The office rule of no fraternizing may apply at work but meeting by chance in a public setting might be acceptable. It’s Just another Technicality.

Cassidy The Technicality Series Book 1 edition by Angel Gary Literature Fiction eBooks

While I’m not big into the romance genre, this was a pretty decent read. The characters were relatable as they tried to navigate the choppy waters of love and keeping a relationship on the down low. One of the most interesting aspects of this book was Cassidy’s commitment to her faith. Christianity obviously isn’t a new thing nor is books about them, but I was surprised to see that come up so frequently in surroundings of a romance novel. I would think the two would clash, but Angel Gary manages to write a convincing story that involves both intimacy and faith. No easy task I’m sure. There were times the dialogue between the characters felt a little clunky and forced, but overall it wasn’t enough to distract from the prose.

I’d like to make special mention of the food in this book. I don’t consider myself to be a foodie, but I do love food and there is plenty of it in these pages. The sheer variety and description of everything these characters were eating always made my stomach grumble jealously. I know that’s not really a reason anyone would read a book like this, but I personally thought it deserved some merit.

Cassidy The Technicality Series Book 1 edition by Angel Gary Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

This series is very well written and holds your attention easily. The detail that emerged from this book made it all the more enjoyable. One other thing about the book was that it did a great job of keeping you on edge. The twists in this series will defiantly leave you wanting to read more!
A fun story line that is easy to read and hard to put down! An interesting mixture of edginess, faith, and romance that is very easy to relate to.
great read
I love the cover of this book. It was eye catching for me! This was a pretty good romance book. I don't read tooo many romance books, I'm not sure about they sometimes. But this one was good. This book had a mixture of faith and romance and it was different than most books I read. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*
I was an okay book. I couldn't really get into it the story as much as I wanted to. The plot was a bit bland for me. The characters were not as memorable and I felt that the dialogue slacked a bit. The pace was good, but the descriptions and the dialogue made the pace slow down. There were many spots in this book where I had questions, and still had those same questions at the end of the book. Maybe the author meant to leave it questionable for the next book in the series, but, it is not obvious, as the book does not really leave off on a cliff-hanger. The good parts about things I liked about this book are I haven't read a plot like this before, with the whole ex-fiance situation, so it was new to me and new is good, especially in this genre; another good thing is that this book has a ton of potential! Angel Gary has a great story here, just needs a bit of fixing, here and there. I would read the next book in this series, just to see what happens to the ex-fiance and if things will 'settle down' with the two 'friends'. I know the next book will be even better than this one and do look forward to reading it
Well written, with the intimacy scenes the greatest asset, the characters were well defined and this is a good beginning for a series. The book started out a little slow, just basic conversation between Cassidy, who had recently moved to Chicago from Indiana after being in a relationship that ended up hurting her heart and her finances, and her best friend, Andy.

It goes on to describe her excitement of getting her new job, in a big law firm, in a new city and continues on in the mediocre things that were her responsibilities on that job, having the goal of becoming an attorney of status - until she met Bradley and then things changed.
If it were not for the intimacy scenes, which did not start until chapter 14, and the sexual tension building between Cassidy and Bradley, based on mutual attraction and desire, that finally exploded into a coupling scene that was pretty intense, I would not have enjoyed the read.

There were no lessons learned, no extreme drama, no mysteries to unravel, just two people, Cassidy and Andy, living their lives on a daily basis like I would be living my own life – sleeping, showering, working, hanging out, Sunday church and doing it all again the next day.

As a preamble to things to come in a follow-up book, this gave good introductions to the characters involved and left you hanging, just a little bit, as to the relationship between Cassidy and Bradley, as well as some leftover drama between Cassidy and her former boyfriend, that could be developed.

Me personally, if I am going to be a voyeur into someone else’s life, I would like to be taken on a journey of something I would not normally experience, an adventure, some drama, some mystery. Hopefully in the next book of the series, this can be achieved.
